History
In the year 1961 D. Alfonso García López installed a factory for canned fish and SEAFOOD, thus initiating the activity of what is now an important industrial complex and giving life to the PESCAMAR brand. In the year 1967 factory was moved from Burgo in Pontevedra, to the municipality of Poio, in the province of Pontevedra, located in the Rías Gallegas area, where supplies some of the raw materials he transforms.
The growth of PESCAMAR has been constant. In 1,967 it had 1,500 m2 and in only two years, it doubles the surface. In a third phase reaches 8,500 m2 and today has 15,000 m2. From its beginnings and until today, this industrial complex has been expanded and renewed year by year, becoming a modern business structure, present throughout the national territory and in more than 35 countries around the world.

Pescamar, currently has the most modern production lines. Production lines and robotic cartoning ensure maximum speed and flexibility to serve our customers products, meeting all requirements of the different world markets.

The expansion and search of new markets have been a constant since the birth of PESCAMAR. For decades it has had a strong presence in Europe and North Africa. Today PESCAMAR has presence globally, from America, through Eastern Europe countries to Asia.

PESCAMAR understands quality, such as obtaining safe products, from the point of view of health, as well as the total satisfaction of the needs and expectations of customers and environmentally friendly production. In order to meet these objectives, the “Quality System” is followed in a methodical way, which allows the constant revision of the working methods and with it the continuous improvement of the processes.
The Quality Department assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of the “Quality System”, making it reach all levels of operation and management of the company.
